Dare to Wear a Cape
Dare to Wear a Cape
And Just Like That!
Since 2012, my son Emery has been a client of Holland Bloorview. He has been treated, supported, poked, prodded, encouraged and loved. His neuromuscular team, headed by the formbidable human, Dr. Laura McAdam, has helped Emery and my whole family live fully, happily, and optimistically.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy normally doesn't have any room for those words. Holland Bloorview helped make it possible.
Emery is now 18, and has graduated out of paediatric health care, but my commitment and energy in support of Holland Bloorview is stronger than ever. If service can be a "love language", supporting Holland Bloorview by fundraising, engaging and spreading the word, is how I express my deep deep gratitude to an institution that never stops daring to change the world for kids with medical complexities and disabilities.
Can I persuade you to join in the fun that comes from a totally accessible, silly and at the same time momentous fundraising campaign? Can I dare you to wear a cape with me?
Truth or dare? Let's do both! The truth is that we all deserve to live full, purposeful lives. Do you dare to help make it happen?
I hope so. I can't tell you how much your support means. Every dollar, every share on social media, eveything always.
Thank you for being part of my world and Capes for Kids.
