No family expects to need pediatric disability care - until they do.

When our son Oliver was just a year and a half old, our family found ourselves facing fear, uncertainty, and questions we never imagined asking. At Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, we found a team who truly listened, who cared deeply and who took the time to really get to know our funny, positive, determined (and stubborn!) little boy.

During a period when our world was turned upside down, Holland Bloorview gave us clarity, compassion, resources, support and hope.

That’s why I’m daring to wear a cape and fundraise for Capes for Kids! Together, we will:

1) Give more kids and families access to high-quality, family-centred and personalized care, no matter where they live;

2) Build and advocate for an accessible, inclusive, equitable and stigma-free world for kids and youth with disabilities; and 

3) Help shape the future of disability healthcare in Canada.
