Be a superhero with me!
Be a superhero with me!
Hello!
Capes for Kids is a fun campaign where individuals can be superheros - giving back to the Hospital that helps kids find their superpowers and conquer their disabilities! When I reach my fundraising goal, I’ll wear my cape during Capes for Kids week (February 28th - March 7th this year).
I joined the Holland Bloorview Foundation board in 2021 as a way to give back for the amazing decade plus of care my son Nolen has received at the hospital. As many of you know, Holland Bloorview has been a part of my life since my son Nolen was born, after suffering a stroke in utero. For the last decade, Nolen has been a patient at Holland Bloorview in almost every department - feeding therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, acquired brain injury, and orthotics.
My son's name means Champion. We didn't know when we chose his name how meaningful it would be. Despite his odds, he has become his own champion and shown us what it really means to be a true champion!
You can learn more about Nolen's story here: https://capesforkids.ca/holland-bloorview/meet-our-ambassadors/meet-nolen/
As a Foundation Board Member, I have been as impressed with the management of the Foundation as I am with the care from the Hospital. Which is why I’m asking you to join me in being a superhero and consider donating to my campaign page.
You can be a hero too by donating! Together, we will:
- Help kids with disabilities move, explore, play and heal through therapy, programs and services.
- Support transformative research that enhances care, develops assistive technologies and evaluates barriers that restrict the inclusion of children with disabilities.
- Create an accessible, inclusive, equitable and stigma-free world for kids and youth with disabilities.
Thank you!
Laura
